One of the brightest jewels of the Yucatan lies just 50 miles south of the Cancun International Airport. It is Akumal, "Place of the Turtle." It is a secluded hideaway where you can get away from everything. Akumal’s bay with its clear, turquoise water and glistening white sand beach is breathtaking, inviting and uncrowded. Nearby, in the tropical jungle, are easily-accessible ruins of the mysterious Maya civilization.
Club Akumal Caribe offers bungalows and oceanfront rooms. Our bungalows are placed among the lush gardens of our property, just steps away from the beach. While they do not have a view of the ocean, they make up for it in charm, privacy and convenience. Each bungalow has either one king sized bed or two double beds, air conditioning, ceiling fan and mini-refrigerator.
Our three-story building has 21 rooms all facing the pool and the bay. All are bright and airy with a balcony. The rooms have either a king sized bed or two double beds and feature air conditioning, ceiling fans and mini-refrigerators.
Welcome to our newly rebuilt restaurant right on the beach where you can dine on the outdoor veranda or inside with a view of the bay. We feature seafood, Mexican and vegetarian specialties plus our complete menu that has something for everyone. For a cold drink, quick bite or a full meal, visit the snack bar.
Families love Akumal and enjoy the safe feeling of our resort. Your kids can play safely on the beach, swim in the bay in quiet, calm, shallow waters, enjoy their first snorkeling trip and view the undersea world. In addition, we have a kids club to keep them busy and give parents a break. It has a morning program and an evening program, with a variety of activities, games and movies. Our staff will ensure they have a great time.
