Piedra Escondida, a small cabana-styled hotel in Tulum, Mexico, offers a rustic atmosphere for those looking for an exciting vacation in the middle of the Riviera Maya. We are located between the ruins of the ancient city of Tulum and the Sian Ka’an biosphere reserve, just about 75 minutes south of Cancun.
Like most beachfront hotels in the Tulum area, we strive to be ecologically friendly by using a generator for electricity, which runs daily from 6 PM to 11 PM. We do not feature air conditioning or televisions in any of our guestrooms. We emphasize relaxation amid the surrounding nature—the jungle and the magnificent beach with soft, cool powdery white sand surrounding the turquoise water of the Caribbean Sea.
Our small enchanting hotel has eight guestrooms with private balcony, hammocks, and an amazing view of our private beach. In each room you will enjoy tranquility and privacy in the middle of tropical vegetation and natural atmosphere. Our restaurant serves authentic specialties of the Maya as well as Italian cuisine. The bar offers icy cold refreshments in a casual setting.
Piedra Escondida was created with the idea of offering a place where nature and comfort go hand in hand. From every room and private balcony you can watch the sunrise over the magnificent Caribbean Sea and sunsets over the emerald green Yucatan forest.
The architecture of Piedra Escondida has been carefully designed to fit in with the surroundings with the greatest respect for nature. Every room has its own bathroom with shower and hot water. Piedra Escondida is a privileged reserve for a few where you can enjoy and feel the mystical atmosphere of the ancient Mayan city of Tulum.
Dozens of natural pools called “cenotes” with their crystal waters surround the area. Our partnership dive center will organize tours and diving opportunities of these cenotes for you.
